The Chevrolet Silverado EV comes with new battery options, changes in pricing structure, and various driving ranges. This new lineup should be more appealing.
When this electric pickup truck arrived for the 2024 model year, it only came in two versions, WT and RST First Edition. The Work Truck (WT) model was aimed at commercial buyers, while the RST was meant for the general public. Going into 2025, Chevy has expanded the lineup to offer more trims and more choices for the versions that are already part of the lineup. Let’s take a look at what the new Chevrolet Silverado EV brings to the table.
A new starting point
How far do you need to drive every day? if you don’t need to drive more than 350 miles, the new base version of the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV could be perfect for you. This new WT model has a 119-kWh Standard Range battery pack and comes in at $57,095 without any options added to it. Unfortunately, like most new EVs, this new base model will have a late arrive and will be available to anyone who wants to drive this base Chevy EV truck.
The WT doesn’t stop there
For commercial shoppers looking for more driving range, there are two other battery options available for the WT trim. This truck can be had with a 170-kWh Extended Range battery that enables the truck to achieve 422 miles of range and costs $64,495. The second option is a 205-kWh Max Range battery that achieves 492 miles of driving range in a truck that costs $77,795.
Considering all WT models come with 510 horsepower, the only benefit in moving up to larger batteries is receiving longer driving ranges, which means most drivers, commercial or otherwise, will likely choose the standard battery.
The pricing is a major change for the WT trim compared to last year. The 2024 version came with 450 miles of driving range but started at $79,800, which means you can have the Max Range battery and spend less in 2025.
A new LT trim arrives
The LT trim name has represented a middle trim level for Chevrolet for many years. This new version of the Chevrolet Silverado EV comes exclusively with the Standard Range battery and up to 408 miles of driving range. This model also increased the power to give owners 645 horsepower, which is pretty impressive in any truck.
The LT model, in most cases, is the version with the most choices and opportunities to build the truck you want. That could be the case for future versions of this electric truck trim, but for now, it doesn’t have many options for drivers to choose from.
The RST continues to sit at the top
The Silverado EV RST is a performance-oriented version of this electric Chevy truck. Its now offered as a regular production model and it can be had with either the Extended Range or Max Range battery to power your ride. With the Extended Range battery, the RST trim is good for 390 miles of driving range while the Max Range battery gives this truck up to 460 miles of driving range.
The RST models are the most expensive versions of the Silverado EV. The Extended Range version costs $89,395 while the max Range version calls for $97,895. This top trim level gives you the most power, delivering 760 horsepower to the wheels, which can make this truck incredibly fun and active on any road.
The tax credit
All versions of the new 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV qualify for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit. This credit can be taken at the dealership, which reduces the price instantly, giving you the saving you need, as long as you qualify for the credit.
These trucks are built at the GM Zero plant in Detroit, which is the same factory that builds the GMC Sierra EV. We don’t have any information about an upgraded version of GMC’s electric truck, but that could be coming soon. Typically, when Chevy makes changes, so does GMC.
